eco-Profil BVBA was founded in 2002 by Eric Devos, who is currently still taking care of the business.

The company first focused its attention on the development of recipes and technologies for the direct extrusion of wood plastic composite profiles for outdoor applications.

After a long period of testing, 2003 was the year of the design of the first production unit, the selection of vendors and the search for capital. In this phase, Mr. Francis De Clerck and his Ideal Group came on board.

In 2005, new dies were developed to allow the production of wall cladding boards, also for exterior applications.

2008 witnessed the move to a new site in Burgebrach, Germany, in a building of the Ideal Automotive Group near Bamberg. This move was needed after the decision to invest in a new production line capable of producing an additional 12000 tonnes yearly! This unit, the biggest single line production capacity in Europe, allows to obtain the highest quality standards at high throughput rates.

Over the years, a number of partnerships with national distributors and agents were created, leading to a growing presence of eco-Profil throughout Europe and Australia.
