eco-Profil decking and wall cladding: there is none that is "greener" !

eco-Profil  is a composite decking material that looks and feels like natural timber, but requires none of the maintenance of traditional wood.

Suitable for outdoor applications from residential decking to screening and commercial outdoor areas, also marinas and boardwalks, it eliminates the need for tropical wood or impregnated timber.

Also, it diverts thousands of tons annually of waste going into landfills or incinerators.

Over 95% of the product components are derived from locally sourced recycled or reclaimed material - 60% wood fibre, 35% recycled plastic with the remaining 5% consisting of lubricants/pigments of natural origin. The plastics used are only polyolefins, no PVC which can lead to increased dioxins in the atmosphere. Plastic comes from post-industrial and post-consumer waste streams. The wood comes only from PEFC certified suppliers, thus guaranteeing that the forests from which it originates are managed in a sustainable way.

Cooling water used in the product’s manufacture is used in a closed loop, yielding zero water discharge.

There is negligible waste and any that is produced is reused.

Our direct extrusion process can be considered the most energy efficient to produce wood plastic composites.

Our WPCs contain no formaldehyde or other volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Also, the basic material structure means that leaching from eco-Profil is minimal to non-existent. 

WPCs are recyclable and can be reground and 100% reused after their service life.

WPCs are considered non-hazardous waste and can be disposed of by standard methods.

All pigments are of natural origin, no synthetic pigments being used and still the products available in a variety of standard colours: Ash Grey, Bahama Brown and Ayers Red.

WPCs are environmentally friendly materials:

• high resistance to extreme weather, moisture and termites without additional use of pesticides or harmful additives;
• low maintenance, does not need solvent based sealers nor surface treatments or weatherproofing;
• high degree of UV stability;
• 100% recyclable, after a prolonged life when compared to conventional timbers;
• can be worked like softwood, with classical wood working tools;
• eliminates the use of tropical timber or impregnated wood;
• no toxic leachates;
• WPCs increase the efficiency of wood usage by up to 40% compared to traditional wood processing.
• ten year guarantee against rotting, warping, splitting and cracking when the product is installed and used as per manufacturer’s recommendations. However, the life expectancy is much higher still.
